Earth Hour

Don't forget Earth Hour today March 29, 2008 at 8pm your time! Turn off your lights (and everything else if you dare!) and kick back for hour hour with some lovely candles and a good book or your best friends and loved ones. Here, we will just be snuggling down quietly reading with one another, if we were elsewhere we would probably have a couple of friends over for a little celebration and a good game of whatever hits the spot. :) So, whatever you are doing.. enjoy the silence!

And, you can add Vancouver Canada in there as well as our city is also participating! Yay!

Spring!

A sign or two of spring.. finally! Oh yay!

I love crocus! They are the first flowers to emerge after the long winters. Eager and willing to give us all hope that the sometimes dreary winter days don't last forever. A little whisper of encouragement to come on.. only a few more weeks! Dig in the Earth and get our hands dirty! Grab a rake and make room for all that new growth itching explode towards the sun. :)
A wonderful heartwarming story to feed your happy place! :)

Puppies!

Warning: Cute Puppy Alert. If you insist on being grumpy today, do not look at this blog.

These little cuties seem to be doing great and are up and walking around, mobbing their Mom Olive, whenever she steps near them! :) Olive is doing quite well also. It seems the votes are in and little Orangy made a break from the others by a total of 2 votes! My Mom still isn't sure which is going to be her little snuggle buddy but she does know it's going to be a male. Finally a little brother! I do believe I asked Santa for a little brother one Christmas.. better late then never. ;) lol

All we have to do now is come up with a name! Any suggestions??

Spread the Love folks!

Tammy

A Bright Idea!

This can only be described as brilliant! What a fabulous way to treat our Earth with care and encourage life to flourish, everywhere! One gentle soul quietly works to make the world a better place.

The fabulous, fascinating and crafty mind of Holly (aka Recycledideas) not only found a perfect way to make handmade paper but she has also found a way to "Grow a note" These amazing handmade cards have seeds embedded within them, so after you've spread some love, you can grow some as well! :) Right now, Holly has some listed in her shop that have lavender seeds embedded in them.

"I make them from junk mail, and organically grown lavender and lavender seeds from plants I grow in my hometown, Walla Walla. "

The cards that I purchased have the beautiful Colombine Seeds embedded within them and I look forward to finding a perfect spot to grow them. I can't go wrong as Holly, thankfully, has included instructions on how to grow them! lol

Curious to learn more? Check out her very interesting blog: http://newfoundlandnews.blogspot.com/

Thank you Holly for caring!

New Zealand Dolphin Rescues Beached Whales

The things that we don't know in this world always astounds me. Everyday, I am humbled at the goodness in this world. I am humbled at my own lack of understanding. I am humbled by the silent ones that work so quietly behind the scenes helping others and asking for no attention or credit. The more I learn, the less I know.

Here is a beautiful story sure to touch your heart!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A dolphin has come to the rescue of two whales which had become stranded on a beach in New Zealand.
Conservation officer Malcolm Smith told the BBC that he and a group of other people had tried in vain for an hour and a half to get the whales to sea.
The pygmy sperm whales had repeatedly beached, and both they and the humans were tired and set to give up, he said.
But then the dolphin appeared, communicated with the whales, and led them to safety.
The bottlenose dolphin, called Moko by local residents, is well known for playing with swimmers off Mahia beach on the east coast of the North Island.
Mr Smith said that just when his team was flagging, the dolphin showed up and made straight for them.
"I don't speak whale and I don't speak dolphin," Mr Smith told the BBC, "but there was obviously something that went on because the two whales changed their attitude from being
quite distressed to following the dolphin quite willingly and directly along the beach and straight out to sea."
He added: "The dolphin did what we had failed to do. It was all over in a matter of minutes."
Back at play
Mr Smith said he felt fortunate to have witnessed the extraordinary event, and was delighted for the whales, as in the past he has had to put down animals which have become beached.
He said that the whales have not been seen since, but that the dolphin had returned to its usual practice of playing with swimmers in the bay.
"I shouldn't do this I know, we are meant to remain scientific," Mr Smith said, "but I actually went into the water with the dolphin and gave it a pat afterwards because she really did save the day."
A new family member!!
This is a very special time in our family. And it's finally official! My Mom and Rick are adopting a new family member.. maybe two if she can convince Rick! lol Excuse me while I wipe away a tear!! *sniff* It's just that I'm so excited to be a big sister! Being an only child my whole life I've always yearned for a sibling. :) So, here are the choices! Lets offer our opinions in the poll if you would please to help her decide on the cutest one. I tell her, it's not all about looks Mom.. and she just replies.. "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful Tammy". *oh sigh* ;) lol
Stay tuned for updated schnauzer pictures!! :)
New Inspiration
I had been thinking about several people who have been worrying about their pets lately and how much people adore and love their animals. Us too!! This is Toe Matar and Roxy Daisy ----------->
I was looking around a beading store and found these adorable little spiral cages.. thought.. now what am I going to use these for? But, learning from experience I trusted the urge to scoop them up and went along my way to my next happy little crystal store. Wandering around there I saw the tiniest little Tibetan Crystals, and tiny Ammy pieces and pretty Peridots and click click click aww.. Charming little pet charms. So, I've added these adorable little Stones to their comfy and secure little cages.. a little tinkle here and a wiggle there and voila! :)
I'm happy to custom make one as well for your pets! Some pets have different needs then others. :)
Well, that's all! Thanks for stopping by.
Who Knew Knots Could Look So Pretty?
I bought this fun new Chakra necklace from Tangled Macrame and it is so much fun to wear! Whenever I do I receive tons of compliments on it! :) It brings out my hippie side in full force and I LOVE it! She also cheerfully custom made it for me in just my size! Now that's a groovin' chick. ;)
I also bought this totally fun and funky anklet! I'm wearing it every chance I get. With every step I am jingling a song out for the world to hear! lol Everyone needs a little music in their life don't they? :) I'm bugging her to make my daughter one as well so that we can have matching tinkling anklets and act like Goddess and Goddessette Earth Dancers.. laughing songs while twirling barefoot around the yard! Yay! lol
Etsy :: Treasury West List
My latest treasury! It's helping to support http://etsyforanimals.com !
Spread the Love! Yay!
This is my son, my daughter, and myself through the eyes of my daughter.
Cave Pearls
This is a Cave Pearl.
Beautiful and Rare just like you! Oh come on.. you know it's true! :)
Cave pearls are formed in caves much the same way a real pearl is formed within an oyster. Water loses carbon dioxide as it drips from the ceiling in the cave, turns to Calcite as it splashes into a puddle and very slowly over time calcite forms over small bits of rocks or sand and voila, you have cave pearls. Whew! I hope I got that right.. feel free to correct me if I didn't! lol
And, I just have to say that anyone who doesn't believe in the powerful healing of the Spirits in the Crystal kingdom only needs to hold one of these breathtaking Cave Pearls in their hands. The Purest Love.. the Love of the Divine Mother expresses itself within these Spirits.
Thank you to Dancing Dragonfly for listening for and sending this Spirit along to our home.
I suspect those who have a difficult time tuning into the beautiful energy of Crystals would be hard pressed not to feel something with the Cave Pearl Spirits.
Tammy
Spread the Love!
I haven't blogged for so long! Partly because I'm not really sure what to say and partly because I just seem to run out of time! But, it doesn't have to be big! Just something little.. something interesting I heard or a smart quote I came across. So, we'll see if I can follow through and keep things updated daily.. almost daily anyway!
A quote I heard today, that I love:
"Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind!"
~Dr. Seuss
On another note, they have the most wonderful children's stuffies out there. This one was the last one in a local dollar store of all places and of course 'Blueberry' which evolved from Blue Unicorn Bear, came home with my daughter! Magical Healing it says. :)
